Mareeba Combined Agents penned a total of 872 head at Tuesday's prime and store cattle sale, a decrease of 304 head on the previous week.

A full panel of buyers were present and operating, along with a gallery of local buyers and onlookers.
Better conditioned cows sold well. Store type cows sold to a competitive market. The best weight and conditioned steers along with heavy heifers sold well.
Store cattle are still selling extremely well with the best of the younger steers reaching 474.2c. Store heifers remained in strong demand selling to a top of 444.2c. These high rates are predominately for softer type cattle.
The sale averaged 378.35c averaging $1044.51/hd across all categories, a change of +3c on the previous week.
The yarding included 166 bulls averaging 316.6c selling to a top of 446.2c, 70 cows averaging 254.3c selling to a top of 296.2c, 126 heifers averaging 338.5c selling to a top of 450.2c, 139 steers averaging 375.6c selling to a top of 448.2c, 171 yearling heifers averaging 416.9c selling to a top of 444.2c, 195 yearling steers averaging 437c selling to a top of 474.2c, one cow and calf at $1620 and four cows and calves at $540.
