Combined agents of CQLX yarded a total of 4578 head on Wednesday, comprising 2349 steers,1664 heifers, 437 cows, 42 bulls, 86 cows and calves.
With new regulations in place the market corrected itself to align with other regional sales. Prime cattle eased with the better quality holding firm. Feeder cattle were less in demand but still saw solid rates. Store cattle were little in supply with prices softer.
Slaughter steers sold to 304c, average 293c, steers 400-500kg made 346c, average 312c, steers 300-400kg reached 380c, average 327c, steers 200-300kg made 402c, average 339c and steers under 200kg sold to 378c, average 318c.
Slaughter cows sold to 261c, average 241c, cows 400-450kg made 256c, average 229c, cows 320-400kg reached 248c, average 221c, and cows under 320kg made 198c, average 132c.
Heavy heifers sold to 300c, average 284c, heifers 300-400kg made 330c, average 297c, heifers 200-300kg reached 338c, average 279c, and heifers under 200kg made 306c, average 203c.
