IT was a perfect result for the Cass family, Mungabunda, Moura, and their Ayr The Beefy Charolais on-property sale on September 19.
They offered 98 bulls and sold the lot for a 100pc clearance. The sale aggregate of $581,500 returned a very healthy average of $5933 with a top of $15,000.
Thirteen lots sold for $10,000 or more.
Speaking for his mum Ruth and dad George, Dave Cass said the results were "simply overwhelming" and exceeded expectations.
"I got a bit emotional for a while when they were selling so well," Dave Cass said.
"We couldn't thank everyone enough for their fabulous support. Really I am speechless.
"I don't honestly know why we got such a fantastic response but I hope it was because the buyers are looking for our type of cattle; I hope they bought the bulls they did because they like what we do.
"We were lucky to have a lot of repeat buyers."
Darren and Sandra Gilliam, Lake Elphinstone Partnership, Lake Elphinstone Station, Nebo, secured the most expensive bull in the draft when they paid $15,000 for 29 month-old Ayr Egan's Ducati.
A 910kg son of Ayr Andre's Egan (AYR J290F) and Ayr Egypt's Duchess (Ayr J97E), "Egan's Ducati" has other impressive credentials including eye muscle area of 148 sq cm, P8 and rib fat measurements of 8mm and 6mm and a scrotal circumference of 41cm.
Cameron and Lisa Hughes, Malarga Grazing Company, Brooweena, were also happy to be among the multiple buyers, averaging more than $11,000 for their three purchases.
One of the new bulls, the 26 month-old Ayr Egan's Illinois, which tipped the scales at 968kg made the second highest price of $14,500.
