A total yarding of 483 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s prime sale on Thursday, September 14.
Several good yielding bulls were yarded, which made solid money. The majority of the yarding was again cows with more than 100 quality bullocks on offer for competition.
Steers over 550kg sold to 260c/kg and averaged 269c, while steers in the 400-550kg sold to 240c, averaging 215c.
More than 100 quality bullocks were on offer for competition.
West Farming P/L, Loomeah, Roma, sold Hereford steers for 267c at 640kg returning $1710. The Hereford cows went for 210c at 660kg returning $1387.
Keith Proud, Glen Isle, Wallumbilla, sold Droughtmaster steers for 264c at 733kg returning $1938.
Heifers over 450kg made to 220c and averaged 194c, heifers in the 350-450kg sold to 220c, averaging 208c.
Cows over 500kg peaked at 216c and averaged 203c, while cows in the 400-500kg class also topped at 209c and averaged 184c. Cows 300-400kg sold to 191c and averaged 191c.
Rosehearty Graz, Ingle Downs, Winton, sold Santa cows for 216c at 625kg returning $1352.
DAPCO Farming CO. P/L, Merino Downs, Surat, sold Santa cows for 213c at 630kg returning $1343. AR Roberts, Tantatton, Wallumbilla, sold Hereford cows for 199c at 642kg returning $1279.
Bulls over 600kg earned to 260c and averaged 231c.
