The FNQ Growers annual gala dinner is set to return on November 19 this year.

Originally penciled for September, the dinner was postponed due to uncertainty around the pandemic and government-directed restrictions and lockdowns.

FNQ Growers chair Joe Moro said the organising committee had decided to hold a scaled-down version of the dinner on November 19 at the Mareeba United Football Club.

"We acknowledge and appreciate the strong support the event has attracted in past years from growers and industry stakeholders," Mr Moro said.

"The safety of our people is priority and after much consideration and discussion, the committee believe we can proceed to plan and deliver a smaller event in line with current restrictions.

"We will be offering a smaller scale, casual night, which will give our growers and industry stakeholders an opportunity to celebrate our industry."

Nominees in the prestigious Charlie Nastasi Horticultural Farmer of the Year award will also be honoured in this year's event, with the 2021 winner announced on the night.

A special produce auction will also take place to raise funds for the Mareeba Hospital.

More details along with ticketing information will be released in coming weeks.
