A total yarding of 900 head comprising of 620 steers, 240 heifers, 30 cows, 10 bulls and mickies were yarded at the final Nebo Prime and Store sale for the year on Friday.
According to selling agent Tony Dwyer, GDL, there was strong buyer support from central and southern Queensland giving vendors a great result.
In a year when cattle prices soared to new levels, the pace failed to soften at the last sale for 2021.
"We broke records in both the steer and heifer market," Mr Dwyer said.
"Steers reached 820.2c/kg while heifers made 728.2c/kg and bulls under 450kg sold to 726.2c/kg."
Ian Michelmore and family, Fort Cooper, Nebo, broke both records.
A line of 251 Santa Gertrudis cross steers under 250kg topped at $820.2c/kg.
The draft averaged 700.2 c/kg returning an average of $1971/head.
The 140 Fort Cooper heifers sold to top at 728.2c/kg and averaged 667c/kg to return $1610/head.
The Michelmore family also consigned a line of Brahman Santa Gertrudis cross steers weighing 205kg from Kainga that sold for 814.2 c/kg to average $1670/head.
The family also offered 145 Brahman/Charbray cross steers which topped at $2018 and averaged $1948 consigned from Strathdee.
Big Horn Pastoral, Nebo, sold a line of Brangus weaner steers for 750c/kg, weighing 206kg, to return $1546/head.
Iain and Anneli Day, Day Cattle Co, Beranli, Nebo sold a line of grey Brahman heifers that sold to 504.2 c/kg with the best pen making $2280/head.
The Day's line of Charbray heifers made to 560.2c/kg to return $2215/head.
Day Cattle Co also offered a line of feeder Brahman steers making 550.2c/kg with the best pen returning $2343/head.
George and Tanya Plemunek, Bloomsbury, sold a pen of Brangus cross weaner steers weighing 217kg and selling for 770.2c/kg to return $1676/head.
Jill Bella, Image Pastoral, Mt Challenger, Bowen, offered 33 crossbred Steers weighing 270 kg to return $1760/head
Tolsworth Hay and Grazing, Tolsworth Station, Nebo, sold an Angus bull for 360.2c/kg, weighing 845kg, to return $3043 while a line of Brangus cows from the vendor sold for 360.2c/kg, weighing 590kg, to return $2125/head.
Other market quotes included steers 400 to 500kg making to 552c/g, while steers in the 320 to 400kg made to 784c/kg.
Cows over 400 to 520kg sold for 376.2c/kg to average 267c/kg, and heifers in the 400 to 450kg range sold to 504.2c/kg.
Selling agents will return from the festive break and hold the next Nebo Prime and Store Sale on February 11, 2022.
