Just under 1380 cattle were penned at Emerald on Thursday, yet another rise in rates in mostly all categories was evident.

Heavy bullocks over 550kg made to 451c, 500-550kg types reached 503c, 350-400kg steers made to 556c to average 508c, with 280-350kg topping at 649c, while weaner weight ranges made to 680c to average 594c.
Heifers over 400kg topped at 500c to average 456c, 350-400kg heifers made to 556c, with 280-350kg types reaching 574c, while the weaner weight types made to 574c. Heavy cows topped at 405c while cows 450-520kg made to 398c.
A mixed offering of 48 cows and calves were on offer with the best reaching $2675/unit.
The Roper Valley Team offered 600kg bullocks from Terranora, Capella, selling for 447c and $2683, while Tony and Louise Prentice, Jamar, Yamala, offered 597kg for 405c and $2421. The Helmuth family, Glenelg, Emerald, had their 545kg Euro cross cows to 403c and $2197, while Shane Goodwin, Malthoid, Capella, sold 605kg Brahman cross cows to 408c and $2469.
The Prince family, Janibee, Capella, offered 407kg Droughtmaster steers to 502c and $2046, while Cliff and Janine Smith, High n Dry, Yamala, had their 438kg Euro cross steers 504c and $2209. The Prince family, Melaleuca, Capella, had their 349kg Droughtmaster steers sell for 522c and $1821, while the Sams family, Wee-Oak, Capella, watched their 235kg Santa steers make 680c and $1604.
