The general trend for values tended to be slightly dearer than those of the previous week's rates, and any major variations were quality related changes.
In the prime section, bullocks over 550kg sold to 438c to average 401c, heavy steers 500-550kg which had competition from both the feedlots and processors, reached 444c to average 417c, heavy heifers over 400kg topped at 437c to average 400c, heavy cows over 520kg made as much as 372c to average 359c, 450-520kg cows peaked at 368c to average 347c, while heavy bulls over 600kg sold to 319c.
In the store section, heavy feeder steers 400-500kg sold to 478c to average 442c, trade feeder steers 350-400kg topped at 492c to average 449c, 280-350kg steers reached 614c to average 520c, weaner steers 200-280kg made as much as 638c to average 575c, while light steers under 200kg sold to 638c.
Feeder heifers 350-400kg sold to 461c to average 426c, 280-350kg heifers topped at 496c to average 425c, weaner heifers 200-280kg made as much as 552c to average 465c, while light heifers under 200kg sold to 576c. Two lots of cows and calves on offer, saw a pen of large frame, mixed age Droughtmaster cross cows with weaner size calves at foot sell for $2850/unit.
The Daniels family, Stonybrook, Springsure, sold grain assisted Santa cross steers to 403c for 635kg and $2562, while Peter and Jennifer Pocock, Highlands Plains, Dysart, had their 542kg Belmont Red cross prime heifers to 389c and $2112. Adrian Esmond, Cockatoo, Emerald, had 588kg Brahman cross cows to 356c and $2095, while the Beak family, Bonnie Doon, Gindie, had their 471kg Angus cross feeder steers to 476c and $2243.
The DeBoni family, Boonal Downs, Capella, had their 341kg Brangus cross steers to 578c and $1974, while the Whitehead family, Satellite, Springsure, had their 208kg Euro cross weaner steers to 638c and $1329. The Prewett family, Glendariwell, Emerald, sold 300kg Brangus weaner steers to 614c and $1842, while Chasford Grazing, Clermont, sold Droughtmaster cross weaner steers for 600c weighing 278kg or $1670. Their heifer mates made 478c weighing 256kg or $1226. Kleier Pastoral, Luxor, Clermont, sold Droughtmaster weaner steers for 578c weighing 274kg to return $1587. Their sisters made 580c weighing 262kg or $1260.
