The premium price was reached by Wowan vendor Lawson Dunne, LTD Brangus, for a pen of 10 cows and calves, which Justin Rohde, Nutrien Ag Solutions Rockhampton, said had strong demand from the bidding gallery because of their exceptional quality.
"The line was bought by a restocker just south of Rockhampton to fit within their breeding program," Mr Rohde said.
Mr Rohde said the cows and calves market at CQLX had been a consistent high performer during the past few weeks, and this sale represented a firm selling trend.
The yarding increased 413 head to 3467 head of cattle, which were drawn from the local region, as well as north to Collinsville and Mount Coolon and west to Bauhinia and Rolleston.
