Hughenden hosts Centenary Queen competition
Four young ladies were vying for the title of Centenary Queen and Charity Queen which came with the prize of a two week holiday for two at Hayman Island.
Jeannette McGregor, Patti Cairns, Jeanette Cann and Jessie Wilks were the entrants and were judged on their general knowledge, deportment and dress sense.
Their combined fundraising efforts had reached $7543, well above the $2500 the festival committee had hoped for.
The winner was set to be announced at the end of the town's Centenary Festival.
Stockman injured
