Another one of the North West's great bush events will take place this weekend.
The Sedan Dip campdraft, races and rodeo will send hundreds scurrying to the dot on the map, 100km north of Julia Creek for a packed weekend program, August 19-22.
Last held in 2019 after missing out last year, the venue has had a makeover with new laneways in the backyards, a gymkhana shed, an extension of the bar and clearing for more campsites, ready for the influx of visitors.
Due to a large number of nominations the program kicks off with the Millungera Maiden Draft at 1pm Thursday.
Action resumes at 6.30am Friday with remainder of the Millungera Maiden Draft, a P&J Bridges maiden for maiden draft and then a final. It will be a followed by the Spoonbill Restricted Open.
Then at 4pm Friday there will be the Hartley and Co Open Barrel Race, followed by the Eddington Droughtmaster poddy ride, the Savannah Helicopters station buckjump and the Thompson Longhorn Bullock Ride.
Friday night has been designated "redneck rodeo" night with prizes for the best redneck and hillbilly garb and live entertainment afterwards.
Action resumes bright and early 6am Saturday morning with the Lemmons Store restricted draft, the Haddington mini draft, the Lavera junior draft and Rodeo Saddle Shop juvenile draft.
Then at 1pm the Sedan Dip bush races sprints kick off with the Top Pub pursuit, then Suncorp Slipper, the Rabobank Rush, the Grey Nomad Gift "slow horse race", the McCormack Livestock and Property Purse finishing with Race 6, the feature race, Rural Pumping Solutions Sprint Sedan Dip Cup.
Calcuttas will be run prior to each heat and final and there will be fashions on the field.
Following the races there will be the Kennedy Rural open bronc ride and the Fox Helicopters open bull ride and more live music to finish the night.
Finally Sunday kicks off at 6.30am with the Clonagh novice draft and final, the Spoonbill restricted open final and a cut-out shoot out.
Kids novelty horse events will conclude the program at 9am.
There is free weekend camping with showers and toilets and full catering on the grounds.
To get there turn onto the Wills Development Rd 2km west of Julia Creek and travel north towards Burke and Wills Junction for about 96km.

There will be no phone service, fuel, power or EFTPOS so stock up beforehand in Julia Creek
All attendees will need to scan the QR code on the Sedan Dip Facebook prior to leaving service and have the confirmed check in on display on their phones on arrival.
