Cr Campbell said Mr Glasson had served MITEZ for more than 13 years, playing a crucial role in showcasing the growth opportunities in the state's north west and highlighting the massive contribution the area delivers for regional and state economies.
"Dave's intention has been to retire following the transition of CEOs," Cr Campbell said.
"Glen Graham retired in November 2020 and new CEO Catherine Robson was appointed in April this year.
"Dave will now be able to concentrate on his business, but I am sure he will always be a strong advocate for the north west".
The MITEZ management committee will now undergo a recruitment process with the aim of appointing a new president at the MITEZ AGM in November.
