A couple of heavy hitters visited Normanton last week to throw their weight behind the North West Hospital and Health Service's COVID vaccination campaign.

The NWHHS said footy superstars, former Gold Coast Titan, Preston Campbell and North Queensland Cowboys and Brisbane Broncos player, Antonio Winterstein visited the Normanton Community Health Clinic on Wednesday.
"They met our clinic staff, got their vaccines and are doing their part to protect themselves and the community against COVID-19," NWHHS said.
"The boys are encouraging others to get vaccinated and have vaccination information and hand sanitiser to share with the Normanton community.
"Thank you to both Preston and Antonio for stopping by and and a huge thank you to our Normanton clinic staff for all their hard work to keep the community safe."
A similar campaign across the region called "jibber jabber" is encouraging Indigenous people not to listen to the "jibber" spreading false rumours about the vaccine and instead trust the "jabber" and get vaccinated as soon as possible.
According to Queensland Health there have been 8677 vaccines administered in the North West region.
