WEANER AND FEEDER SALE
Emerald agents yarded 3950 head for the July special weaner and feeder sale on Tuesday, with some great quality lines on offer from both local and away vendors.

Competition in the gallery was strong, with feedlotters, processors and restockers operating across all lines in the yard.
Steers from 400-500kg topped at 476c to average 443c, feeder weight steers from 350-400kg sold to 538c to average 453c, 280-350kg steers sold to a top of 680c to average 540c, weaner steers from 200-280kg topped at 680c to average 581c, while weaner steers under 200kg topped at 680c to average 643c.
Feeder heifers from 350-400kg sold to 468c to average 429c, 280-350kg heifers sold to 536c to average 459c, 200-280kg weaner heifers sold to a top of 546c to average 485c, while weaner heifers under 200kg sold to a top of 550c to average 505c.
The Sullivan family, Talagai, Capella, sold Droughtmaster steers to 441c weighing 490kg and returned $2165. The Whitehead family, Satellite, Springsure, sold 241 Droughtmaster/ Charolais cross weaner steers in one line making 680c to average 227kg or $1545, while their sisters made to 536c to weigh 282kg or $1514.
Lyn Sypher, West Park, Emerald, sold Droughtmaster steers to 572c to weigh 257kg and returned $1475. Mike and Vicki Donovan, Coolibah, Capella, sold Charolais cross steers to 558c to weigh 295kg or $1646. The Randell family, Crinum, Tieri,sold Brangus cross weaner heifers making to 528c to weigh 224kg or $1186.
STORE AND PRIME SALE
Emerald agents experienced a smaller yarding on Thursday due to Tuesday's weaner sale, with 404 head offered for sale.
Many lines were too few to reliably quote, however excellent results were seen throughout the yard.
Heavy bullocks over 550kg sold to a top of 404c to average 368c, 500-550 bullocks sold to 412c to average 402c, steers from 400-500kg topped at 449c to average 422c, and feeder weight steers from 350-400kg sold to 454c to average 441c.
Medium weight heifers from 280-350kg sold to 457c to average 455c, heavy cows over 520kg topped at 346c to average 309c, medium weight cows from 450-520kg sold to 296c to average 292c, while heavy bulls over 600kg topped at 330c to average 314c.
The Cox family, Mt Surprise, Alpha, sold Simmental cross steers to 369c weighing 695kg to return $2565. Mt Wilga Pastoral Co, Mt Wilga, Alpha, sold Droughtmaster cows to 311c weighing 540kg to return $1680. The Scully family sold Brahman cows to 313c weighing 574kg to return $1797.
