STRAIGHT from their Beef Australia success, the Olive family extended their ribbon-winning streak at the Clermont Brahman Feature Show last month.
In a showing of 49 exhibits from Brahman breeders across Queensland, it was senior bull Raglan Mr Viscount, exhibited by Andrew and Roxanne Olive, Raglan Brahmans, Raglan, who claimed senior and grand champion Brahman bull of the feature show.
The Olive family also took home senior and grand champion Brahman female, with Raglan Miss Madalan and her calf.
In the interbreed section, Glenlands Bateman claimed supreme exhibit for owners Jason and Carissa Childs, Glenlands J Droughtmasters, Alkira, Dingo.
Supreme champion female of the show went to Raglan Miss Madalan.
Judging the fine line of cattle was Brett Kinnon, Bungoona Brahmans, Clermont, with associate Luke Kinnon and supreme judge Melissa Spencer, Malthoid, Capella.
Cattle steward Rosemary Robertson, RR Brahmans, Clermont, said the feature show was a huge success.
"We had a lovely line of cattle on display this year, celebrating the 75th anniversary for the Brahman breed," Ms Robertson said.
"Overall, the cattle section received around 97 nominations, with cattle coming from Mundubbera, Sunshine Coast, Rockhampton and Mackay.
"That would be the most Brahmans we've had here, but you would expect that having a feature show and we had a lot of cattle that were shown at Beef Australia as well."
The taste buds of those in attendance were also satisfied with Crinum Brahman stud dishing up a juicy Brahman hump on the day.
"We had a Brahman hump cooked for a novelty during the Brahman judging so people could sample it," Ms Robertson said.
"I've had nothing but wonderful comments come back.
"We had wonderful attendance which is more than normal for our public viewing, people coming in and watching."
Australian Brahman Breeders' Association general manager Anastasia Fanning opened the feature show.
Ms Fanning said there was an excellent line of cattle on display.
"The majority of these cattle had been to Beef and the support of the vendors of the feature show was greatly appreciated," she said.
"We generally try to have a couple of feature shows a year and we tried to do this one last year but it was cancelled due to COVID-19.
"There's a lot of bulls sold in the Clermont area, so it was just a perfect fit to be able to take a feature show there and show those cattle off to potential buyers."
