Mareeba combined agents penned a total of 150 head at this week's prime and store cattle sale, a decrease of 722 head on the previous week due to widespread rain in the local supply area.

The buying panel was limited to local processors and store buyers. However, one southern processor did operate at reduced rates.
Store cattle are still selling well with the best of the younger steers reaching 434.2c/kg. Store heifers remained in strong demand selling to a top of 402.2c/kg. These high rates are predominately for softer type cattle.
The yarding consisted of 15 bulls averaging 317.1c/kg selling to a top of 392.2c/kg, 25 cows averaging 240.8c/kg selling to a top of 256.2c/kg, 40 heifers averaging 340c/kg selling to a top of 364.2c/kg, 23 steers averaging 333.2c/kg selling to a top of 394.2c/kg, 32 yearling heifers averaging 391.3c/kg selling to a top of 402.2c/kg, and 15 yearling steers averaging 429.1c/kg selling to a top of 434.2c/kg.
