"Come on Winton, we can dance again!"
The joy shown by musicians finally able to do what they love best - perform in front of a live audience - was only matched at Winton's 2021 Way out West festival by the excited vibe of a crowd freed from many of the restrictions of the last 12 months.
As Beccy Cole said, "I haven't done this out in the beautiful sunshine for more than a year - I feel like crying".
After being cancelled last year, thousands of people snapped up tickets to once again boogie in the bush, and check out Winton's opal and dinosaur attractions as well, in an atmosphere of country hospitality.
In an anthem to the pleasure of being an Australian in the Queensland outback, The Wolfe Brothers put together a medley of Great Southern Land by Icehouse, Hunters and Collectors' Holy Grail, the ever-popular Angels Am I Ever Going to See Your Face Again, and AC/DC's Back in Black, much to the delight of the mosh pit.
