Rotary FNQ Field Days is ready to pick up right where it left off in 2021 with organisers hoping this years three day biennial event will break more records.
The joint initiative between the Rotary Clubs of Atherton and Mareeba, will be held on May 26, 27 and 28 at the Kerribee Park Rodeo Grounds.
In a time before the pandemic, Rotary FNQ Field Days had it's most successful ever event welcoming more than 19,000 attendees it 2019.
Event chairman Trevor Duncan said the committee had been working tirelessly to implement a COVID-Safe plan and extra safety measures so that the same electric atmosphere can foster.
"We will be the first major event up this way for a while so I think we're going to get some big numbers, but it will be great for the exhibitors if we do," he said.
"The big message at the moment is that we've got to get as many people as possible to book online this year. Safety is our priority."
Joining the Rotary FNQ Field Days as strategic partners for the first time is NQ Agricultural Services from Tolga, along with long running partners Mareeba Mazda and Tyrepower Mareeba.
This year the Rotary FNQ Field Days has been listed on the Schedule of Approved Business Events on Austrade's website.
This means eligible businesses can apply for funding under the Business Events Grants Program to cover up to 50 per cent of the costs of participating in the Rotary FNQ Field Days
Grants from $10,000 to $250,000 per entity are available. Applicants are able to apply for multiple events listed on the Schedule of Approved Business Events.
Mareeba Mazda Dealer Principal David Mete said he was proud to be joining the popular event again.
"This will be our fifth event as strategic partners. We've had such a great experience from all those events so of course we were coming on board again this year," he said.
Tyrepower Mareeba Owner and Operator John Raso said he loved being part of an event that contributed so much to the Far North community.
"I like to be part of what happens around Mareeba and supporting local, and Mareeba is going in leaps and bounds with all the crops around the place," he said.
While many businesses have experienced delays with receiving stock since the outbreak of COVID-19, this year's strategic partners assured the community they had plenty to go around and had been preparing for several months.
"Stock is a touchy subject, but we're doing really well. We've already got stock arriving now and have been for the last month, preparing just for the Field Days," NQ Agricultural Services managing director James Fisher said.
