UPDATE Friday 9PM: All lanes on the Capricorn Highway between Dingo and Duaringa in Central Queensland have FULLY OPENED to all traffic.
The section of the highway was temporarily reduced to one lane after a truck carrying Ammonium Nitrate crashed 50 metres into bushland near Wallaroo, 10 kilometres of Duaringa on Friday afternoon.
Emergency crews will continue throughout the night to clean the scene and recover the truck lodged in bush land.
UPDATE Friday 7PM: The Capricorn Highway has been partially reopened to a single lane.
Motorists are advised to be patient and to expect some delays between Duaringa and Dingo.
The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries and is being treated by emergency services.
The truck sustained significant damage and it could take days to remove it from bushland.
This is the second truck accident involving Ammonium Nitrate to occur in just two months in central Queensland, after a B-double truck carrying Ammonium Nitrate rolled on the Fitzroy Development Rd at Valkyrie in February.
EARLIER Friday 5PM: Both lanes on the Capricron Highway are currently blocked after a single truck crash near Wallaroo, 10 kilometres west of Duaringa.
Emergency services are on scene treating a truck driver with minor injuries.
Police have advised motorists to avoid the area if possible and expect delays. .
