The RACQ Capricorn rescue helicopter was tasked to a property approximately 50km south east of Rockhampton yesterday, after an elderly patient had sustained injuries following a quad bike accident while performing cattle work.
It is believed the patient collided with a fence on the rural property at Mount Alma just after midday and suffered injuries to her shoulder, lower back and endured lacerations to her forehead.
With the patient having no apparent recollection from the incident, it is not confirmed what transpired, however, she was able to return home and alert others, where emergency services were then notified.
The Rescue300 crew responded immediately, with the onboard critical care paramedic and doctor offering medical assistance to the patient.
The woman was stabilised and transported to Gladstone Base Hospital for further treatment.
