After more than 20 years of supplying agronomic and rural services to the Central Highlands, CQ Ag Services is set to merge with Nutrien Ag Solutions in Emerald.
Initially starting out as a seed supplier, CQ Ag Services expanded quickly over the years, building market share in chemical and fertiliser supplies as well as agronomic services.
CQ Ag Services general manager Darren Young said the move would better service the Emerald farming community.
"Nutrien Ag Solutions is the majority shareholder of CQ Ag Services and also owns and operates a corporate store here in Emerald, so combining the businesses will allow us to operate more efficiently and continue to offer our farmer customers the very best advice, support, products and services from one new location," Mr Young said.
"We have a strong commitment to the local community and are proud to be investing in a new site to accommodate the new combined business, which we are hoping to move into in May 2021, once the redevelopment work has been completed."
We are looking forward to combining the skills, expertise and experience of the two teams to further strengthen the local agricultural community.

The announcement follows the one year anniversary of Ruralco and Landmark merging to become Nutrien Ag Solutions in Australia.
Nutrien Ag Solutions managing director Rob Clayton said over the past 12 months, Nutrien Ag Solutions had been continuing to invest in a range of assets to ensure they provided even more value to their customers.
"Impacts of higher demand for inputs on the east coast, varied seasons and further constraints due to COVID-19 have highlighted significant supply chain issues for the agriculture sector in the past year," Mr Clayton said.
"Nutrien Ag Solutions has responded to this challenge with further investment in our local manufacturing capacity.
Mr Clayton said while the Nutrien Ag Solutions brand is young, the history in the Australian agricultural landscape stretches back 180 years to encompass some of the most recognised and trusted names in agriculture.
"While our name is new, our passion for agriculture and our unwavering commitment to the success of Australian farmers is unchanged," he said.
"Our 4000 employees all play a significant role in their local communities and the wider agricultural industry; providing advice, products and technology that our farmers need to be world-leading in their field."
