Emerald agents experienced a larger yarding last week, with just over 2700 head consigned for sale. The market showed plenty of confidence with a full panel of buyers competing, bringing excellent results across the yard.
Heavy steers from 400-500kg sold to 389c to average 350c, feeder steers from 350-400kg sold to a top of 390c to average 352c, medium weight steers from 280-350kg made to 462c to average 371c, weaner steers from 200-280kg sold to 462c to average 406c, while weaner steers under 200kg were too few to quote.
Heavy heifers over 400kg sold to a top of 390c to average 310c, 350-400kg heifers sold to 379c to average 334c, 280-350kg heifers sold to 400c to average 342c, 200-280kg weaner heifers made to a top of 407c to average 378c, while weaner heifers under 200kg sold to a top of 409c to average 387c.
Heavy cows over 520kg topped at 289c to average 259c, while cows 450-520kg reached 277c to average 256c. Heavy bulls over 600kg sold to a top of 290c to average 271c.
The Flohr family, Wotonga Station, Nebo, sold Santa cross steers to 369c weighing 456kg to return $1683. Corbin Deboni, Boonal Downs, Capella, sold Brahman steers to 422c weighing 271kg for a return of $1144. Geoff Comiskey, Old Mt Stuart, Capella, sold Bazadais heifers to 359c weighing 376kg to return $1351. Peter Black and Leanne Comiskey, Port Wine, Alpha, sold Droughtmaster heifers to 363c weighing 363kg to return $1320.
