The consistency for which Burenda Angus and Brangus bulls have become well regarded for was highlighted at their annual Roma bull sale today when they achieved an average of $9875 across all 120 lots offered.
It was a solid sale from start to finish, with both the first and last lots of the day both fetching $10,000.
In the breakdown, 109 Angus bulls averaged $9788 while 11 Brangus bulls averaged $10,727 with 100 per cent clearance of all bulls offered.
The top price of the day was $17,000, paid by Alan and Denise Stevenson and their son Malcolm, of Spring Creek, Springsure, who also paid $16,000 for their second purchase.
Mr Stevenson said the Angus bull was as "consistent" as the rest of the Burenda draft.
"He just ticked all the boxes," he said.
"All his maternal figures were good and he had the right carcase figures as well. Just a top bull."
The volume buyer of the sale was Lunar Pastoral Company, Weeallah, St George who paid an average of $9625 for eight bulls.
