The supply of stock increased by 477 head to 3257 at Dalby on Wednesday.
Buyer attendance was generally good with all the usual export processors present and active. The regular feed and trade buyers were also in attendance, plus increased restocker support from interstate.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 4c to 14c/kg better. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market also increased in price by 4c to 13c. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 5c dearer.
Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock shared in the rising trend with improvements of 4c to 14c. Yearling heifers to feed averaged 12c better and over 20c in places.
All classes of cows sold to stronger demand with improvements of 3c to 11c.
Yearling steers under 200kg made to 476.2c to average 462c. Yearling steers under 280kg averaged 446c with sales to 462c. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 393c to 424c and sold to 446c. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 402.2c with a fair sample averaging 390c. A couple of heavy weight yearling steers sold the trade at 396.2c and returned $2219/head.
Yearling heifers under 200kg made to 450c with a large selection averaging 423c. Yearling heifers under 280kg average 410c and made to 444c. Yearling heifers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 384c to 402c with sales to 420c.
A small selection of bullocks averaged 338c and made to 349c/kg. Plain condition cows returning to the paddock averaged 262c, and some better condition lines made to 294.2c.
Medium weight 2 scores to processors averaged 262c and made to 271c, and the 3 scores averaged 275c. Good heavy weight cows averaged 300c, with the occasional sale to 310c. Heavy bulls made to 343.2c.
