Due to next week's special weaner and feeder sale there were too few store cattle to reliably quote, however a great spread of fat cattle were on offer with plenty of competition in the gallery bringing excellent returns across the yard.
Heavy bullocks over 550kg sold to 330c/kg to average 322c, bullocks 500-550kg sold to 328c for an average of 312c, heavy steers from 400-500kg made to 387c to average 366c, feeder steers from 350-400kg reached 385c to average 367c, whereas all lighter lines of steers where too few to reliably quote.
Heavy heifers over 400kg sold to a top of 334c to average 297c, 350-400kg heifers sold to 328c to average 307c, 280-350kg heifers made to 378c to average 316c, while 200-280kg weaner heifers sold to a top of 380c to average 336c/kg.
Heavy cows over 520kg topped at 312c to average 277c, while cows 450-520kg reached 284c to average 263c. Heavy bulls over 600kg sold to a top of 300c to average 285c, while cows and calves averaged $1122/unit.
Proserpine Pastoral Co., Mutation Station, Clermont, sold Brahman steers to 323c weighing 658kg to return $2128. The Prince family,Janibee, Capella, sold Santa steers for 369c to weigh 464kg for a return of $1714. Don and Kay Gordon, Spring Creek, Alpha, sold Brangus cows to 278c weighing 581kg to return $1617. The Burnett family, Langley Downs, Emerald, consigned a large draft of crossbred steers, the best making to 383c weighing 442kg for a return of $1693.
