Prices held strong at Nebo on Friday.

Agents yarded 1665 head at Nebo on Friday consisting of 853 steers, 690 heifers, 89 cows, 27 cows and calves and six bulls.

Cattle were drawn from Mt Coolan, Bloomsbury, Mackay and local areas.

Prices held strong with other centres in CQ. Cows topped at 286c to average 246c there were a good line of feeder steers on offer and sold to a top of 352c, feeder heifers were in demand topping at 318c.

Steers 400-500kg made 328c, average 312c, steers 320-400kg reached 343c, average 314c, steers 250-320kg made 352c, average 312c and steers under 250kg sold to 322c, average 288c.

Cows over 520kg made 258c, average 240c, while cows 400-520kg reached 286c, average 246c.

Heifers 400-450kg sold to 286c, average 239c, heifers 300-400kg made 302c, average 269c, heifers 250-300kg reached 318c, average 284c, and heifers under 250kg made 310c, average 259c.

Cows and calves sold to $1100/unit, average $1011/unit.

Bulls over 600kg made 252c, average 239c, and bulls under 450kg sold to 288c, average 288c.

T and T Symonds, Nebo, sold prime Brahman cows topping at 272c to average 242c weighing 522kg returning $1261/hd. S and K Story, Koumala, sold Brahman cows for 286c weighing 473kg to return $1353/hd.

G and P Neilson, Dysart, sold Charbray heifers for 298c weighing 382kg returning $1140/hd. Olderfleet Cattle Co, Mt Coolon, sold Brahman heifers for 308c weighing 262kg returning $810/hd.

J and K Kozicka, Nebo, sold Brahman heifers for 300c weighing 265kg returning $794/hd. KC and JA Parry, Karingal, Sarina, sold Charbray and Brangus heifers topping at 296c to average 277c weighing 354kg returning $982. They also sold Charbray and Brangus steers topping at 324c to return $824.

Hauwert Pty Ltd, Sarina, sold Droughtmaster steers for 352c weighing 315kg returning $1111. DJ and JA Gronow, Kuttabul, sold Brangus steers topping at 344c to average 336c weighing 326kg to return $1097.
