Agents yarded a little over 1900 at Emerald on Thursday, a yarding mostly made up of slaughter and light feeder weight cattle, which included a line of 900 cows from Alpha.
Steers 500-550kg topped at 308c, with steers 400-500kg topping at 324c to average 317c, steers 350-400kg reached 329c to average 318c, while steers 280-350kg topped at 321c, and steers in the weaner weight class topped at 299c to average 295c.
Heifers over 400kg topped at 306c, while heifers 350-400kg topped at 308c to average 291c, 280-350kg heifers made to 308c to average 290c, and weaner heifers made to 286c.
Heavy cows reached 271c to average 264c, while cows 450-520kg topped at 279c. No cows and calves were on offer this week.
The Prince family, Melaleuca, Capella, sold Droughtmaster steers to 322c to weigh 491kg or $1582. The Brimblecombe and French families, Dalkeith, Capella, sold Droughtmaster cross steers to 305c to weigh 367kg and returned $1121.
Leonie Cumming, Glenesk, Anakie, sold Santa steers to 321c to weigh 326kg or $1049. Alan and Clare Kirby, Wonga, Springsure, sold Euro cross cows to 271c to weigh 616kg and returned $1670.
