Emerald Agents yarded just over 2600 head at the annual July weaner and feeder sale on Tuesday. A good quality line up was evident which reflected prices, seeing most categories increasing 10-20c in places.
Steers 400-500kg topped at 275c/kg to average 268c, steers 350-400kg made to 286c to average 261c, steers 280-350kg topped at 299c to average 270c, 200-350kg steers made to 296c to average 271c cents, while steers in the light weight weaner class made to 294c to average 265c.
Heifers over 400kg topped at 228c to average 222c, 350-400kg heifers reached 258c to average 239c, 280-350kg heifers made to 247c to average 212c, with heifers 200-280kg making to 234c to average 207c, and heifers in the light weight weaner class made to 196c to average 156c.

The Daniels family, Theresa Downs, Capella sold a line of Droughtmaster cross heifers making to 238c to weigh 393kg or $936. The Cox family, Mt Surprise, Alpha sold Euro cross heifers to 258c to weigh 371kg and returned $958. Nigel and Beth Burnett, Langley, Emerald sold Charolais cross heifers to 224c to weigh 252kg or $567.
