Numbers decreased by almost 150 to have 1210 penned at Emerald on Thursday. It was mostly a local yarding with quality being fairly average. Values remained either side of last week's, and the only big changes came by way of a few weight categories being light on for numbers.
In the prime section, bullocks over 550kg sold to 278c/kg to average 276c, heavy steers 500-550kg made to 274c to average 270c, heavy heifers over 400kg reached 245c to average 238c. Heavy cows over 520kg topped at 216c to average 210c, cows 450-520kg made as much as 218c to average 209c, while heavy bulls over 600kg sold to a high of 283c to average 251c.
In the store section, heavy feeder steers 400-500kg sold to 278c for the average of 254c, 350-400kg steers reached 278c to average 266c, 280-350kg steers topped at 289c to average 279c, while weaner steers 200-280kg made as much as 290c to average 277c.
Trade feeder heifers 350-400kg sold to 238c to average 218c, 280-350kg heifers topped at 239c to average 206c, while weaner heifers 200-280kg made as much as 239c to average 211c. A single pen of cows and calves offered, the aged Droughtmaster cross cows in store condition, made $840/unit.

Adrian and Tammy Esmond, Cockatoo, Emerald had their 596kg Brahman cross cows to 211c and $1259, while Wayne and Ingrid York offered 686kg Droughtmaster bulls to 283c and $1944.
Don and Kay Gordon, Burn Meadows, Emerald had their 308kg Brangus cross steers to 289c and $892, while Noel and Dallas Daley, Wilford, Willows had their 472kg Brahman feeder steers to 274c and $1295.
