Very dry conditions continue to grip the North Burnett area with Monto Cattle & Country yarding 530 head for their fortnightly sale.
The market was slightly stronger for heifers while meatworks cattle were solid. Heavy bulls sold for 210 to 215c/kg. Heavy bullocks sold for 250 to 270c topping at $2267. BJ & GT Semple sold HGP treated bullocks 648kg for 256c or $1660. Santa cross heifers at 570kg sold to 256c or $1460.
A good run of cows was penned. Roy Marbach sold a run of Brahman cows with the lead selling to 215c or $1115 and store cows 434kg returning $730. Galloway Pastoral sold Braford cows for $1115 or 208c. JT Cahalane’s Charbray cows sold to $1050 or 211c. Odd single cows realised 221c.
MD, RJ & WJ Brown sold Charbray cross No.7 steers 477kg for 255c or $1217. JW & SN Swift sold Santa Droughtmaster cross No.8 steers for 269c or $986. KJ Keiler’s Santa No.8 steers returned $840 or 255c. Roy Marbach sold Charbray weaner steers for 280c or $650 and Red Brahman steers for 265c or $676.
MD, RJ & WJ Brown’s Droughtmaster cross heifers 410kg sold for 250c or $1025. KD & AP Wyatte’s Brahman cross heifers 349kg returned $828 or 239c. Santa cross heifers A/c JW & SN Swift 342kg sold to 250c or $857. Roy Marbach’s Charbray cross Brahman weaner heifers sold for 208c or $464.
