A MAN was killed after his car smashed into a power pole and rolled on the Atherton Tablelands.
The crash happened about 11.40am yesterday, when the Toyota Landcruiser left Herberton Road and rolled.
The male driver, a 51-year-old Watsonville man, died at the scene.
He was the seventh person to die on North Queensland roads in just six days.
The horror week started last Tuesday, when three people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway near Bowen.
Two cars and a petrol tanker collided about 2.20pm, about four kilometres north of Bowen near the Collinsville turn-off.
A 34-year-old Bowen man, who was driving one of the cars, was killed at the scene.
A man and a woman aged in their 70s, who are believed to be interstate tourists, also died after the truck landed on top of their car, which was towing a caravan.
The 38-year-old male truck driver was not physically injured during the crash.
Less than 24 hours later, a man died after his car and a truck collided on the Bruce Highway, about 11km south of Bloomsbury about 7.30am.
It is understood the man was travelling south towards Mackay in a Mazda when he collided head-on with a truck travelling on the wrong side of the road.
The car’s driver, a 35-year-old man from the Mackay area, died at the scene.
The truck’s driver, a man aged in his 50s, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mackay Hospital for treatment.
Both crashes closed the Bruce Highway for a significant amount of time.
And just after midnight on Saturday, two people died in a firey crash on the Bruce Highway near Tully.
A truck carrying sugar cane and a sedan collided and caught on fire.
The drivers of both vehicles died at the scene.
Both lanes of the Bruce Highway were closed on Sunday morning, with traffic diverted through Mission Beach.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating all four crashes.
