Central Queensland chickpea growers and their advisers will have an opportunity to hear the latest disease management strategies as part of a series of on-property question-and-answer sessions being held next week.
An initiative of the Central Queensland Grower Solutions Group, which is a Grains Research and Development Corporation investment, the sessions will include information on chickpea disease symptoms, spread and infection sources as well as strategies for control, including fungicides and rates.
New South Wales Department of Primary Industries senior plant pathologist Kevin Moore will be available to provide information and advice on managing Ascochyta Blight, Phytopthera and Botrytis Grey Mould.
On-property sessions will run from 7.45am (starting with a light breakfast) until 9am at:
• July 30: Lauriston, Leichardt Hwy, Theodore
• August 2: Glencoe, Yan Yan Rd, Capella
• August 3: Broken Plains, Rolleston
