An exceptional yarding of prime cattle went under the hammer at the Northern Beef Producers expo sale in Charters Towers on Friday.
Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 193 prime cattle, consisting of 123 bullocks, 30 heifers and 40 cows.
Agents said the prime cattle that were presented in larger lines of bullocks and cows were a credit to the vendors.
The yarding was drawn from Belyando Junction, Bowen, Collinsville, Pentland as well as local and coastal cattle.
Bullocks topped 256.2¢/kg sold on a/c Lisgar Pastoral Company, that weighed 714kg to return $1829 per head.
The best priced trade heifers were presented on a/c Klign Family Trust, “St Anns” which made 232.2¢/kg to weigh 450kg to return $1044 per head.
The best priced trade steers were presented on a/c Lisgar Pastoral Company, which made 259.2¢/kg to weigh 500kg and return $1296 per head.
The top pen of cows were sold by Lisgar Pastoral Company for 230.2¢/kg weighing 584kg to return $1344 per head.
