Visitors to the 2018 Burdekin Show will have a vast and varied selection of events, exhibits, and attractions to investigate and enjoy at the Ayr Showgrounds on Wednesday, June 27.

Ayr Pastoral, Agricultural and Industrial Association secretary Lorraine Strathdee said the annual event is guaranteed to provide a fun-filled day out for the whole family.

The show focusses on the agricultural, trade, commercial, and cultural aspects of our community which incorporates Ayr, Home Hill, Brandon and the surrounding area,” Lorraine said.

“From exhibits to equestrian, side show alley and fireworks, the true essence of country can be found at the Burdekin Show,” she said.

“There will be lots to enjoy, ensuring a great experience at this once a year family orientated event that we present for the public to enjoy.”

Lorraine said many crowd favourite events will be returning this year along with a few new attractions certified to capture the attention of showgoers.

“We’ll have the Australian FMX Freestyle Motocross riders performing their amazing tricks during early morning and early afternoon show to get the visitors amped for the main event in the evening which will take place before the fireworks display which is always a spectacular way to close out the night.

She said children will be able to get up close and personal with the cute and cuddly farm animals at Melvilles Animal Farm with chicks, ducklings, guinea pigs, geese, lambs, goats, piglets and more more expected for this year’s display.

For the reptile lovers in the family be sure to take in Luke’s Reptile Kingdom interactive show in which onlookers will be introduced to the amazing world of reptiles while they receive an education about any dangers they present and precautions to take.

“It’s a very informative show, and if you’re brave enough make sure you get a photo taken with a snake around your neck.”

Adults and children alike can unleash their inner speed demons and race for victory on the two-lane digital slot car track at Willows Mobile Slot Cars.
