Charters Towers combined agents yarded a total of 1722 x 26 cattle consisting of 921 prime cattle and 801 x 26 store cattle.
The prime cattle consisted of 172 bullocks, 20 heifers, 688 cows and 41 bulls.
Store cattle yarded: 486 steers, 287 heifers and 28 x 26 cows and calves.
Cattle comprised of good lines of heavy bullocks and cows with isolated pens of plainer cows.
The yarding was drawn from Cloncurry, Mt Garnet, Hughenden, Normanton, Croydon local and coastal areas.

Bullocks were quoted 5c easier, heifers were 12c easier, cows were 10-12c easier and bulls were 15c easier, on last week’s rates.
A run of bullocks A/c Matthew Cattle Pty Ltd topped at 244.2c to average 240c comeback to avg 673kg for a return of $1617.
Best priced trade heifers were presented on A/c MC Vicary, that sold for 207c and weighed 440kg to return $911 p/hd.
The top pen of cows were sold by M&T Toohey for 186c and weighed 571kg to return $1062 per head.
Bulls sold on A/c KLD Pastoral topped at 283c and weighed 765kg to return $2,166 per head.

Store cattle consisted of quality local steers and heifers with lighter runs from the north. Store cattle were back across the board despite a spirited buying panel.
