With another rain-affected sale CQLX Gracemere combined agents yarded 990 head on March 2, consisting of 430 steers, 410 heifers, 90 cows, 30 cows and calves and 30 bulls and mickies.
Cattle were sourced from mostly local areas with some lines from as far north as Collinsville.
Quality was generally good, although mixed in some descriptions.
Competition was strong throughout the sale with a full panel of buyers operating on the smaller sale.
Steers Slaughter made 266.2c/kg to average 256.8c/kg, steers in the 400-500kg weight range sold to 292.2c to average 273.9c and steers between 300-400kg topped 348.2c to average 286.5c.
Meanwhile steers in the 200-300kg range made 388.2c to average 321.9c, while those under 200kg sold to a top of 346.2c to average 332.2c.
Slaughter weight cows sold to 240.2c to average 216.9c, cows in the 400-450kg range made 224.2c to average 209c and cows 320-400kg sold to 186.2c to average 179.2c.
Heavy heifers made 268.2c to average 259.2c, heifers in the 300-400kg range sold to 320c to average 250.7c, heifers in the 200-300kg range topped 334.2c to average 284.9c, while those under 200kg made to 334.2c to average 292c.
Cows and calves made $1475 per unit to average $1259 per unit.
Bulls over 600kg sold to 344.2c to average 250.5c, bulls in the 450kg-600kg weight range topped 251.2c to average 232.6c and those under 450kg made 300c to average 267.8c/kg.
