Truck driver survives semi-trailer crash near Cloncurry
A 53 year old man who was pinned under a truck after it jack-knifed and flipped at Cloncurry on Monday has escaped with his life.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called to the scene, but crews were initially unable to free the driver from the wreckage.
A crane from a nearby mine was used to lift the truck, and rescuers were eventually able to move the patient to safety.
The man was taken to Mount Isa Hospital in a stable condition with suspected broken ribs, but remained in good spirits and even shared some jokes with the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew during the flight.
