Claas announce additions to Volto tedder range

SMALL farms have more options for forage harvest equipment, with the announcement of new additions to the Claas Volto range of tedders.

Claas Harvest Centrer, product manager, Luke Wheeler said the new tedders were ideal for small to medium sized farms.

“They are professional machines that provide reliable operation in small, awkwardly- shaped fields or on hilly terrain,” he said.

Ranging from 4.5 to 6 metres in width the tedders are linkage mounted and feature rotors with a diameter from 1.5 to 1.7 metres.

Mr Wheeler said like their larger counterparts, the new models will utilise the Max Spread crop flow concept.

“Compared to conventional tedding systems, Max Spread causes the spreading arms to work considerably longer in the direction of travel, thereby increasing crop pick-up.”

“The crop flows between the rotors in almost straight lines, which means even leafy crops such as lucerne can be tedded without any problems,” he said.

The new models complete the revamped Volto series, which now ranges from 4.5 to 13 metres in width.
