Growcom is partnering with Queensland Agriculture Workforce Network (QAWN) and the Queensland Government to deliver a series of Workplace Essentials workshops throughout the state that help farm businesses reduce risks and increase efficiency and compliance.
The workshops designed for all agricultural industries will focus on providing farm employers and team leaders with practical information and resources to enhance workplace health and safety and people management skills.
Most importantly for horticulture growers the workshops will cover the latest workplace health and safety, industrial relations regulations, job safety assessments, incident reporting, supervisor responsibilities, performance management, and managing bullying and conflict constructively.
Well respected industry consultants Donna Mogg and Rebecca Fing will be delivering the workshops. Horticulture industrial relations expert Donna will be sharing her expertise at production horticulture focused regions such as Stanthorpe (13 Sept), Lockyer Valley (15 Sept), Gayndah (26 September).
So far the response to the workshops has been overwhelming, with places filling up fast. Such has been the interest in Goondiwindi that the venue had to be changed to accommodate the influx of those growers and farmers planning on attending.
Growcom encourages growers to attend these workshops as they are great opportunity to ensure your business is providing the right support and resources to ensure you are operating in a safe and compliant environment.
The 2017 workshops will be held in Goondiwindi (Sept 12), Stanthorpe (Sept 13), Lockyer Valley (Sept 15), Gayndah (Sept 26), Bundaberg (Sept 27), Mareeba (Oct 17), South Johnstone (Oct 18), Emerald (Oct 23), Rockhampton (Oct 24), Gympie (Nov 2), Caboolture (Nov 14), and Logan (Nov 22).
