Glitz and glamour were on display at All Souls St Gabriels School on Wednesday, for the annual Town and Country Ladies Day in Charters Towers.
Ladies from the local district and beyond attended a social morning at the school to celebrate the second year of the event.
Promotions and Marketing officer, Tracy Maff, said although it was a new event, it had been well received by the community.
Last year we had about 100 women and this year we have 130, so it is great to see in increased interest in the event, Ms Maff said.
Originally the school use to host the Biggest Morning Tea every year and it had died off after three years. So when I came onboard at the school last year we decided to do a Town and Country Ladies Day as an excuse to catch up, see the school and showcase our talent.
Some of our distance education families made the journey for the day from west to Cloncurry and south to Clermont.
We had our students performing throughout the event, as well as local trade stalls and catering.
Money raised from the Town and Country Ladies Day will go towards the 100 year celebration of All Souls St Gabriels School in 2020.
