A moments silence was held at Richmond 4B Rodeo to remember 20 year old Damon McCoy who was tragically killed in a single vehicle accident at Croydon in July 2016.
The Friday night event was well supported by competitors and spectators, with family and friends dressing in #RideforDamo shirts.
Father Michael McCoy, said Damo would be remembered for his involvement in the rodeo and cheerful spirit.
“Damon was honoured in amazing style by the Richmond Rodeo Association through the inaugural Damon McCoy Memorial Saddle Bronc ride.
“The support for it was amazing and it was a wonderful tribute to him, through the sport he was so passionate about.
“The five young men who made the final, have a beautiful embroidered shirt each to remember competing in the event and the very worthy winner, Jordan Iker, has the prize money, beautiful belt buckle and his name on the perpetual shield, congratulations Jordan.”
