THE annual search for the nation’s best buttocks will return to Townsville next weekend, when the Australia’s Best Butt competition stages the year’s fifth heat at The Barn (formerly the Bohle Barn) next Friday night, April 5.

The heat will pit butt against butt to select one male and one female to represent the city at the Grand Final at the Julia Creek Dirt n Dust Festival on April 20, 2013.
Event organiser Margie Ryder is encouraging punters to brush up on their booty shaking and have a crack at the cheeky competition for a chance to win some great prizes including one of two Magnetic Island Adventures valued at $5,000.
“There’s been a lot of strong competition during this year’s Australia’s Best Butt tour,” said Mrs Ryder “The backsides in Cairns, Mount Isa, Mackay and Rockhampton have all put on great shows, so Townsville’s bottoms will really need to step up to the plate if they want to shake it with the best of them at the Julia Creek Finals.
Townsville-based country artist, Jade Holland, will entertain spectators and competitors on Friday night as she continues to road test songs from her debut album, to be recorded later this year.
Heat participants will also get a second chance at the grand prize by being voted a Wild Card Finalist on Facebook.
Entrants to the Australia’s Best Butt Competition must be 18 years or older to enter and being wear jeans, pants or modest shorts.
Registrations will be taken on the night from 7pm.
