Plattaway is naturally strong versatile cattle and farming country, developed brigalow, belah, black-butt and scrub. The property has grey-black and alluvial soils with some regrowth. Large areas experience periodic flooding. The property has improved pastures strongly suited to growing and fattening cattle. There is farming potential for an estimated 3000 acres.
Selling Robert Murillo, Elders Mackay, told the North Queensland Register there were five registered bidders and that the losing bidder was the owner of the neighbouring property, Gundaroo.
