Entries in the North Queensland Register Inventors Contest vie for a cash prize and financial assistance to contest the national finals and exposure to thousands of potential customers at the Australian National Field Days competition in Orange, NSW, later this year.
The competition is open to inventions valued under and over $1000.
"Each year in the competition we receive an amazing array of entries from some very smart inventors," saidcompetition coordinator John Hardy.
Mr Hardy said the competition provided a perfect opportunity for inventors to gain exposure for their invention and network with industry.
He said each entrant would receive exposure from the field days to exhibitors and businesses, more than 10,000 members of the public who are expected to visit the two-day event, and industry experts.
Winners of both categories will receive free entry into the 2013 Tropical Innovation Awards, valued at $100, while all entries receive a free multimedia publicity program.
