A MONTH or so ago, I warned there could be a wedding feature, and the week has arrived.
The meticulous descriptions of wedding dresses and wedding parties from the 1970s through to the early 2000s put my limited knowledge of nuptials to shame.
My repertoire of wedding dress descriptions includes white, lace, sequins, and pretty.
Hopefully this will give male readers a little lift in the absence of cattle prices this week.
Instead, we focus on a different commodity: a marriage.
The basic math behind it is husband plus wife equals a lifetime of happiness.
However, the equation sometimes becomes a little more complicated when other x, y and z values become unbalanced.
Thus, I apologise if any of the reprinted wedding photographs are of broken equations.
In any such instances, I recommend wedding cake testing. Be sure to go alone or with a friend who will give you their share – wedding cake smorgasbords are not a time for portion control.
1977: WESTERN visitors crowded into Townsville for the wedding on Tuesday night (April 19) of Suzanne Lord with Christopher Murray in St James’ Cathedral. Suzanne is the second daughter of Mr and Mrs Ernest Lord of Bora, Maxwelton. The groom is the elder son of Mr and Mrs Doug Murray of Glenlyon, Richmond.
