A SUPERB draft of 75 bulls will be on offer at the 5 Star Senepol sale being held at Gracemere on Monday, September 21 from 11am.
Vendors Geoff and Alison Maynard are confident about the marketability of the draft which consists of 42 Senepol, 10 Senepol hybrid, 14 Senegus and nine Senelais bulls.
The Senepol draft includes a run of 5 Star Longfellow sons, in lots, 6, 7,8,9,10,37 and 38.
Geoff said they are very pleased in how these bulls have presented, and the performance they show. “We believe Longfellow, has tremendous libido, and calf getting ability,” he said.
“We have seen him serve donors females five times in a 10 to 15 minute period, with the first serve completed within 15 seconds every time.
A new sire King Gee, will be represented by six sons in lots 11, 12,13,14,15 and 41.
“We are pleased to verify, that King Gee also possesses a voracious libido.
“These bulls offer a outcross to the traditional Senepol genetics here in Australia.”
5 Star Mocha has four sons in the sale in lots 21, 22, 23 and 34.
“Mocha’s progeny display maximum yield and large eye muscle areas with the ability to cover.”
Lot 3, 5 Star Dirty Deeds is one of the last of 5 Star Titan’s natural calves.
“Dirty Deeds won senior champion bull this year at Beef 2015. He’s beautifully put together, and has tremendous length and thickness.
The nine Senepol Belmont hybrid bulls appearing in lots 43 to 52 are out of dams that have collectively produced 91 naturally born calves.
The group of the nine dams will average over 10 calves per dam by the time the sale is held.
This was done mostly through the Beef CRC program, without the use of early weaning techniques, and minimal or no supplement or chemical treatments.
“If anyone is looking for proven rebreeding genetics, these bulls would be hard to go past.”
Geoff said for the third straight year they will be offering a run of Black Senegus bulls in lots 53 to 66 which have been secured through the use of a Dulverton Angus co-operator herd.
“We supply the semen from high performance select Senepol sires, and have yearling Angus heifers artificially inseminated, we then buy the entire calf crop back at weaning.”
“We also have three Senegus bulls from Clayton and Sarah Maynard’s stud Southern Star Senepol. The bulls are sons of 5 Star Whisperer 7-137 and will appear in lots 15, 16 and 17.
The Senelais bulls being offered in lots 67-75 are 32 to 34 months of age, and have grown and matured into impressive calf getting machines.
“All are poll, fertile, and show top end growth and muscularity without being extreme.”
All sale bulls have been semen tested, scanned and vaccinated for three germ, vibrio, three-day and five-in-one.
