Quality was mixed, although all regular buyers were in attendance, rates continued to ease for all categories on offer, as the dry sets in and beef sales slow.
Steers over 550kg topped at 239c/kg to average 233c, steers 500–550kg topping at 255c and averaging 244c, while steers 400–500kg reaching a high of 271c and averaging at 239c, steers 350–400kg topped at 291c to average at 220c, with steers 280–350kg topping at 336c and averaging 269c.
Meanwhile steers in the weaner weight ranges reached 360c to average 337c.
Heifers over 400kg topped at 220c and averaged 216c, while heifers 350–400kg reached 272c and averaged 241c, with heifers 280–350kg topping at 257c and averaging 224c, while heifers in the weaner weight ranges reaching 279c and averaging 249c.
Cows over 520kg topped at 203c to average 193c, with cows 450–520kg reaching 198c and averaging at 193c. A pen of Brahman cross cows with Brahman cross calves at foot made to $1225 per unit.
The Esmond family, Lucknow, Emerald consigned Droughtmaster bullocks averaging at 235c to weigh 718kg returning $1690. The Hanrahan family, Palari, Comet, sold Brahman cross steers reaching 239c and averaging 688kg or $1646.
The Donovan family, Coolibah, Capella sold Brahman cross steers to 248c to average 531kg to return $1318. The Ward family, Jabiru, Emerald consigned Droughtmaster cows to 203c and averaging 669kg or $1359.
The Loudon family, Karinda, Springsure sold Brahman cross heifers to 238c averaging 450kg or $1073. Steve Mclucas and Susan Burns, Middlemount sold Droughtmaster steers to 343c with an average of 251kg or $862.
Shawn White, Picardy, Dysart sold Brahman steers to 315c with an average weight of 244kg to return $770. The Bradley family, Lindley Downs, Springsure consigned Brahman cross steers to 337c averaging 239kg and returning $805.
