Townsville Dog Squad’s Senior Constable Cherie Banks travelled out to the town of Richmond in western Queensland and presented an informal session to the students at Richmond State School about her role as a dog handler.
The students and teachers were enthralled by the presentation and the drug detecting abilities of Police Dog Kip and Police Dog Wilma.
The students inundated Senior Constable Banks with questions, and were thoroughly impressed with the two Police Dogs.
The session coincidentally blended well with the students’ curriculum, and also might have tipped the scales in regard to the serious discussion being held by the Richmond State School students of whether “dogs are better pets than cats”.
