A yarding of 4340 cattle came to hand at Gracemere sale on July 29 comprising 2217 steers, 611 cows, 1461 heifers, 22 cows and calves and 79 bulls.
There was a larger than average yarding due to the rain that cancelled last week’s sale. Prime cattle were once again firm, while feeder steers met with very strong competition. The weaner section was also very strong with light steers reaching record prices and the heifers were also in strong demand.
