A massive store sale helped the Mareeba Saleyards crack the $1 million mark for the second time in its 69-year history.
Last Friday's sale of 2012 head grossed more than $1.3m.
The sale cracked its first ever million-dollar sale in August last year, at the height of the booming cattle prices.
On that day, 1877 head went under the hammer for $1.078 million.
Friday’s sale average was 278.3c/kg, for $682.27 per head weighing 247kg.
Other results were 446 heifers averaged 278.1c/kg selling to top of 317.2c/kg, 652 steers averaged 294.6c/kg selling to top of 327.2c/kg, 301 yearling heifers averaged 267.2c/kg selling to a top of 300.2c/kg, 386 yearling steers averaged 310.5c/kg selling to a top of 330.2c/kg, 192 cows averaged 175c/kg selling to top of 190.2c/kg, 24 bulls averaged 289.8c/kg top of 312.2c/kg and 10 cows and calves at $450/unit.
